Australian Emu
The Australian emu is a large flightless bird that can trot over long distances. Although the emu has feathers, it cannot fly because its wings are too small. The emu is found throughout Australia in almost all types of habitats and feeds mainly on grass, flowers, seeds and insects. Emu is the second largest living bird by height after the ostrich. The Perth Mint has issued a series of bullion coins featuring this unique animal in both gold and silver. The 2024 Emu is the seventh issue in this series.
