Front side of the coin
In the Germania Mint's interpretation, Skuld is depicted as a mysterious figure dressed in a hooded cloak that hides what is still unknown. On his belt hang human skulls, symbols of mortality and the prize for knowledge of the future. In her hand she holds a sharp knife, with which she cuts the thread of life and determines the fate of those who seek her visions. She stands at the base of Yggdrasil, surrounded by the fallen, the still living, and numerous swords that testify to battles yet to come.
The back of the coin
The double-headed eagle of the Germania mint is surrounded by the roots of Yggdrasil and the golden threads of destiny. The broken threads symbolize that the future, although predestined, remains sensitive to the decisions and actions of living beings, allowing for the possibility of changing destiny.
Skuld, whose name means "what will be", is the Norn of the future. In her hands lie the secrets of the days to come, the inevitability of fate and the responsibility of what is yet to come. She records and anticipates events yet to take place. Skuld symbolizes the mystery, uncertainty and consequences of present decisions. Her presence reminds us that every decision made in the present is reflected in unknown events and intertwines the inevitable with hope.
