The 1990s
The 1990s saw the successful revival of the James Bond film franchise. After a six-year hiatus, 1995 saw the release of GoldenEye, the first Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan embodied the British secret agent as a charming but assertive hero who adapted to the modern demands of the times. The films reflected technological developments, post-Cold War geopolitical changes and a greater awareness of equal rights.
A total of three Bond films starring Brosnan were released in the 1990s:
Golden Eye (1995)
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)
World Is Not Enough (1999)
