Tuvalu Lunar III - Year of the Dragon 1 oz Silver Antique Coin 2024 Rotating Charm is a unique offering from The Perth Mint. The coin is a complementary element of the fifth collector's edition of the Lunar III series. The previous coins in the series were the Year of the Mouse 2020, Year of the Buffalo 2021 and Year of the Tiger 2022, Year of the Rabbit 2023. The Lunar Series refers to the 12 animals that are representative of the Chinese lunar calendar. The year 2024 belongs to the dragon and in Chinese mythology it is a majestic beast that inhabits rivers, lakes, oceans and roams the skies. 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024.

The Year of the Dragon Collector's Edition coin was struck in fine silver Ag.9999, weighing 1 troy ounce, in the ancient standard . The Year of the Dragon Collector's Edition is produced in a limited edition of only 3,000 pieces. Each coin has also been enhanced with a rotating gilded image of the title animal. The individual pieces are also supplied in elegant packaging with an attached certificate of authenticity.

Obverse of the Year of the Dragon silver coin is decorated with a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. The whole is surrounded by the inscriptions "QUEEN ELIZABETH II", "TUVALU" and the date of mintage and face value. The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.

On the reverse is a revolving gilt portrait of a dragon. The reverse also contains information on the weight and purity of the metal. The reverse was designed by Natasha Muhl.
