The sixth issue of the new lunar series was minted by the Royal Australian Mint and is dedicated to the Year of the Snake. It is the sixth animal of the Chinese zodiac after the tiger, bull, rat, rabbit and dragon. The design depicts a snake winding through bamboo.
The year 2025 belongs to the snake and is seen as a period of deep reflection, wisdom and inner development. Snakes have a reputation for being philosophical thinkers who are patient and thoughtful. The Chinese zodiac sign of the Snake falls in the years 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013 and 2025.
The reverse side: shows a picture of a snake. On the reverse side is the inscription "YEAR OF THE Snake" and the Chinese character. The author of the reverse side of the coin is B. Scott.
The front of the coin: is decorated with the likeness of King Charles III of Great Britain and the inscriptions 'CHARLES III', 'AUSTRALIA', as well as 12 animals from the Chinese lunar calendar. The front side of the coin also contains information on the denomination and year of mintage.
