Background information
The Australian Kangaroo series is one of the most famous and sought after gold coin series in the world. Since its introduction, it has symbolised the strength and adaptability of Australian wildlife and is one of the few coins with a design that changes every year. The 2025 edition stands out for its exceptionally detailed design, making it a sought-after item for collectors and investors around the world.
Special Features
A key feature of the 1-ounce coin with the Australian kangaroo motif is an innovative security measure: a detail engraved into the motif with a microlaser that is only visible under magnification and effectively prevents counterfeiting. The coin is also housed in a protective acrylic capsule that preserves the pristine condition of the gold. As this coin will only be minted until the end of 2025, it represents a limited opportunity to own a unique piece of Australian nature in pure gold.
Perth Mint
The Perth Mint is Australia's official bullion and coin mint and is wholly owned by the Government of Western Australia. The Perth Mint was established on 20 June 1899, two years before the federation of Australia in 1901, and was the last of the three Australian colonial branches of the Royal United Kingdom Mint (after the now defunct Sydney and Melbourne mints) dedicated to refining gold from the gold rush and to minting gold sovereigns and half-sovereigns for the British Empire. Along with the Royal Australian Mint, which produces Australian dollar coins for circulation, the Perth Mint is the older of the two Australian mints issuing legal tender coins.
