Above the motif is the inscription CONGO SILVERBACK GORILLA, below it the face value of 1 oz, the year and the fineness 999. The rim around the motif is done in a uniform ethnic design. The value side of the Congo silver gorilla coin bears the inscription "REPUBLIQUE DU CONGO", the face value "5000 FRANCS CFA" (Congolese francs) and the emblem of the Republic of Congo.
